Business, Leadership and Society Leading with Impact Field Trip

On September 26th, Alexis Carrico took her Business, Leadership and Society Management class on a field trip to the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) to learn about leading with impact.

There, students heard from CML CEO, Karen Coltrane, about the work the organization is doing to expand access to educational learning opportunities throughout the tri-county region.

From hearing about CML’s strategic planning process to its organizational governance, the students learned that nonprofit leaders use the same skills as for-profit leaders to responsibly meet organizational goals. Students also learned about CML’s revenue sources including grants, private donors and earned income- all key components of the work CML is doing to not only renovate its downtown flagship location, but also to open its first Satellite location in a Rosenwald School in St George; generously supported by the Boeing Corporation and private donors: https://stgeorgerosenwald.org/childrens-museum.
