Beemok Hospitality Collection SLS: Building Future Leaders

The Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC) Service Leadership Scholars (SLS) Program at the College of Charleston is dedicated to developing exceptional leaders in the hospitality industry. Designed as a series of intensive experiential learning engagements paired with individualized professional development—the program aims to enhance students’ relationship management skills, emotional intelligence, business acumen, and leadership insights.

Fall 2024 Events

The fall schedule is packed with enriching activities designed to provide hands-on learning and networking opportunities:

  • August 18-19: Orientation and team-building activities, including a surprise event and yoga session.
  • August 27: Tourism Marketing session with Helen Hill, CEO of Explore Charleston.
  • September 3: Hotel Development and Finance discussion with Dan Battista and Sam Parris from LOWE.
  • September 24: Corporate visit to Hilton with Priscilla Mint.
  • September 27-28: Wampee Leadership Retreat featuring various speakers and breakout sessions.
  • October 1: Insights on Buying & Selling Hotels with Ken Widmaier.
  • October 22: Events and Facility Management session with Bob Moran and Travis Maynard at Credit One Stadium.
  • November 12: Hard Hat Tour of The Cooper with Lukus Grace.
  • December 3: Site visit to The Dunlin and dinner with the leadership team.
