Let’s Have Fun!

Yesterday, the School of Business leadership team had our fall retreat. Why do we call it a retreat and not an advance? That’s a topic for another post. It was a focused day where we learned about our upcoming AACSB visit, our next step in a Strategic Framework, opportunities and challenges in each area, and our Geniuses, Competencies, and Frustrations (Working Genius). It’s a fascinating model that will enable us to work better as a team and ensure team members find joy in their roles. Special thank you to Shannon Bassett and Kendall Cage from Human Resources for facilitating the session.

But the best part was just being together and having fun. Yes, fun. We laughed and candidly discussed topics with respect. It reminded me that we are blessed to do what we do – and that there is no reason we can’t have more fun doing what we do.

As we enter a new school year, I hope we find ways to bring the fun. Appropriate fun. And make it a great semester!
