Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
This week, I am taking a few days away with Christine. There’s always something significant happening in our School, and even when away, I stay updated and participate in activities that drive us forward. During these moments, it was clear what a great team we have. They are not skipping a beat or waiting on me. They are getting the work done.
It’s easy to view higher education through the lens of a single class, advising appointment, or research study. It’s easy to become siloed in our thinking. But working in silos does not make us successful. Sure, it can make an individual successful, but not the entire enterprise. The future requires the whole enterprise to be successful, and as a result of our School’s success, we will all, as individuals, be more successful. That’s a dynamic you won’t find in any other industry.
While I am enjoying the summer (and I hope you are too), I am looking forward to fall when we can talk more about our dreams for the future and how we, as a team, can build that future together. That will continue to make our School extraordinary and provide a platform for each of us to excel in our professional pursuits.
YOU make a difference.
