CRASE Training

There were some great takeaways from our Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training last Friday.

  • It’s never fireworks – call public safety (top right button on all campus phones)
  • Take 5 when you walk into a new or unfamiliar room – check for exits, fire extinguishers, etc.
  • If it is an emergency, turn your fear to anger. Anger will help you survive more than fear will.

Thanks again to Deputy Chief for leading the training complete with great jokes to bring some levity to a serious topic. We’ll be following up with information to ensure we’re all working to keep our School safe. Let us know where there are first aid kits in the building to add to the safety document we’re preparing.

The CRASE training was an incredibly valuable experience. I told my wife about it when I got home and she promptly ordered about 20 tourniquets from Amazon. If you were there, you know what I’m talking about.
