SCIM 2023 Summer Research Support
The Department of Supply Chain & Information Management will be offering summer research stipends for projects related to supply chain management, global logistics, and/or transportation. The funding would be available to all School of Business faculty to promote research collaboration with our department and would provide a $5000 award for each faculty that works on up to two co-authors projects. The projects will be funded in the spirit of the state appropriation which is to foster the development of supply chain disciplines across more of the School’s programs. Obviously, should this funding cease, the SCIM department would no longer be able to support these initiatives.
When the project is awarded, each faculty will be paid $5,000 during summer 2023. A copy of the full paper and an acceptance letter by a conference is required by May 1, 2024. Conference presentation is the minimum requirement. Failure to meet either of these requirements will result in a forfeiture of the funds. Faculty that fails to complete the project is not qualified for the stipend in the following year. Proposals should be submitted to the Chair of the SCIM Department (chouc@cofc.edu) by April 30, 2023. The proposals will be evaluated by a committee consisting of members from multiple disciplines. If you would like to serve on the committee reviewing the proposals, please let Chen know.
