Introducing the Service Leadership Scholars!
** From Jeremy Clement, Senior Instructor | Internship Coordinator | Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management; Director | Schottland Scholars Program **
The Service Leadership Scholars is a new, HTMT-focused leadership development program for Junior (or higher) Hospitality & Tourism Management Majors, Minors or Concentrations. The scholarship provides a 1-semester experiential development and educational enhancement program focused on supporting and mentoring emerging student leaders from the Hospitality & Tourism Management program. This program will give our very best hospitality students the opportunity to meet with and learn from our very best hospitality leaders; both here in Charleston, and from across the country.
The program kicked off this Spring ’23 semester with Adjunct Professor and former Managing Partner of Wild Dunes Resort, Frank Fredericks serving as our Executive Mentor. Thanks to Frank we’ve had a great semester meeting with leaders from across Charleston, including: Lowe, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Indigo Road Hospitality Group, CoralTree Hospitality, Explore Charleston, Bulldog Tours, Coastal South Carolina, Charleston Wine + Food, and more!
We are gearing up for our first round of interviews for the 2023-24 academic year – all Hospitality majors, minors and concentrations rising into their junior year should consider applying before the April 1st deadline!
