Charleston School of Business Faculty & Staff Updates

Welcome!

Welcome to the first edition of “The Pulse,” a weekly e-newsletter for key School of Business stakeholders.  As we advance the mission of the School and the College, two words quickly come to mind. Communicate & Advocate. They work together. Every day I learn about something great that is happening in the School of Business. You need to hear it too. We know the future will have plenty of challenges, but they will be easier to navigate if we address them together.

So, what can you expect from future editions of The Pulse?

First, it’s organized into 3 sections:

  • Dean Thoughts – here, you will learn a bit about what I am thinking each week. Carrie, Marcia, & Michelle will often share their thoughts as well.
  • Need to Know – here, we will post items with deadlines, policy updates, and things you simply need to know.
  • Good to Know – here, we will share news-type items. Some of the things I hear each day that you might or might not know. We will share successes and challenges.

The Pulse will automatically send each Thursday at 11:00, so you know when to expect it. If you have something that you would like to add, please send it to Erika. One thing to note, The Pulse is publicly available. It’s an internal newsletter, so we will not be promoting it, but others can see what we post if they know the link. Occasionally, Erika will learn something that she can use externally – which is another good thing.

The plus to this format is you can scan it quickly and read the ones that are of interest. It will also be in a blog format, which means you can easily find it in the future here. Also, it will be shared with faculty, staff, the Board of Governors, and other key stakeholders. This enhances our communications and enables each of us to be better advocates for the School and the College.

I’m looking forward to communicating with you more regularly as we advance our mission together.

YOU make a difference.

Remember:
