The last day to Add or Drop a class for Spring 2023 semester is Wednesday, January 18.
Express 1 classes the last day to add/drop is Friday, January 13.
Registration Tools are available via MyPortal everyday from 8 AM until Midnight.
The opportunity to select the new PS/NS option will open for students in Banner Self-Service starting at 8:00 am (EST) May 4, 2021. The decision deadline is 5:00 pm (EST) on May 5, 2021. Students may change their selection during this time period (May 4th and 5th, 2021). All decisions are final as of 5:00 pm (EST) on May 5, 2021. February 1, 2021 is the last day to submit an undergraduate Application to Graduate in Spring 2021. Visit https://registrar.cofc.edu/graduation/index.php for additional information.
REMINDER: January 19, 2021 is the last day for drop/add for full semester courses. Dropping a course after this deadline results in a withdrawal “W” from the course. A “W” is not a grade. A “W” indicates that a course was started but not completed.
Just a quick reminder that the last day to withdraw “W” from full semester courses is Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 11:59 pm (EST). Students may withdraw from a course in Banner Self Service in MyCharleston (which opens at 8:00 am (EST) each day). Instructions for withdrawing can be found on the Help and Training tab in MyCharleston on the Office of the Registrar Student Resources channel.
For all course withdrawals, you will receive an email confirmation to your college-issued email account from the email address coursenotifications@cofc.edu. Your instructor will also receive a copy.
A withdrawal “W” is not a grade. A “W” indicates that a course was started but not completed. If you are unsure about withdrawing from a course, please consult with your instructor and/or advisor.
REMINDER: Today is the last day for drop/add for full semester courses: 8/31/20!
Registration is currently closed due to New Student Orientation. All students will be able to make adjustments to their fall schedule from 8:00 am (EST) August 8, 2020 through August 31, 2020 or the end of the drop/add period. Students who need assistance earlier should consult with the department chair in their major or contact the department offering the course.
Timeline for Making Your Decision Between Standard Letter Grades and the new PS/NS Grade Type
- You will have two days to view your letter grades and make decisions regarding the new Significant Disruption PS/NS grade option.
- The opportunity to select the new PS/NS option will open for you in Banner Self-Service starting at 12:01 am (EST) May 5, 2020.
- Your decision deadline is 11:59 pm (EST) on May 6, 2020.
- You may change your selections during the two-day period (May 5th and 6th, 2020). All decisions are final as of 11:59 pm (EST) on May 6, 2020.
Viewing Your Express II and Full Semester Letter Grades
- On May 5th, you will be able to access your Express II and full-semester grades on the Significant Disruption (PS/NS) Grade Mode page in Banner Self-Service. Your grades will not be located in the normal Student Grades channel on the Academic Services tab in MyCharleston until they are finalized on May 7, 2020.

Choosing the PS/NS Grade Mode Option for Your Eligible Courses
- In making the decision to retain standard letter grades or choose the new PS/NS grade mode, it is critical for you to talk with faculty, advisors, financial aid, and family. The Center for Academic Performance and Persistence is a valuable resource for students making these decisions. Questions regarding how the PS/NS grade type will impact scholarship eligibility can be emailed to meritscholarships@cofc.edu. If you have any questions regarding the PS/NS process, please contact the Office of the Registrar registrar@cofc.edu.
- If you do not want to select the PS/NS grade type for any of your eligible courses, you do not need to take any action.
