The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended, is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. In accordance with regulations issued under FERPA, the College of Charleston provides an annual notification to our enrolled students of their rights under FERPA; as well as an explanation of the exceptions under FERPA that allow the College to disclose information from the student’s education record without consent.

The Office of the Registrar will be closed on Thursday, August 3, 2017 for a professional development training. We will re-open on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 8:30 am.
The College of Charleston will be closed on July 4, 2017 for the Independence Day holiday. The Office of the Registrar will reopen at 8:30 am on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.
The College of Charleston’s MyCharleston portal experienced an unscheduled disruption in service yesterday. Monday, June 19, 2017 was the last day to withdraw from Summer I classes. This deadline has been extended to Tuesday, June 20, 2017. If you were unable to withdraw from a Summer I class due to this disruption, please send an email to registration@cofc.edu today.
The College of Charleston is experiencing a campus-wide server hardware failure. Our IT department is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The MyCharleston portal will not be accessible during this time. Official transcript ordering will also be delayed as part of this system outage. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Degree Works will not be available from noon to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 due to an IT system upgrade.
The Office of the Registrar will close at noon on Friday, May 12, 2017 in preparation for commencement. We will re-open at 8:30 am on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Degree Works will be unavailable from noon on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 due to end of term processing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thursday, February 9, 2017 is the last day for students to withdraw “W” from Express I classes.
Thursday, March 23, 2017 is the last day for students to withdraw “W” from full semester courses.
Wednesday, April 12, 2017 is the last day for students to withdraw “W” from Express II classes.
Note: Holds placed by the Treasurer’s Office will prohibit students from being able to withdraw in Banner Self-Service. Students should settle the hold with the Treasurer to be able to withdraw online or contact the Office of the Registrar by the appropriate deadline to withdraw.
