Internships are a crucial part of education here at the REACH Program, and September is a busy month for them. Students have begun working, are meeting their co-workers for the first time, and are experiencing what it’s like to work in certain career fields of their choosing. Just like starting any new job, there will be feelings of excitement, nervousness, and the desire to fit in among colleagues. Throughout the semester, these internships will:
- help the students gain valuable work experience,
- explore new career paths,
- develop and refine marketable employment skills,
- provide networking opportunities,
- teach valuable life skills,
- gain confidence in themselves, and
- provide the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to succeed in today’s demanding workforce.
