Student Housing: A Guide

Posted by: arfeathe | February 9, 2017 | No Comment |

Housing opens to each rising class as follows:

  • Seniors – February 5
  • Juniors – February 12
  • Sophomores – February 15
  • Incoming students – March 1
    • Housing closes to all other students on this date

Incoming freshmen can apply for housing starting February 19; Nora will be available to help select rooms.  Prior to applying to housing, students will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Pay the $100 tuition deposit, the $200 housing prepayment and the $50 housing application fee via MyCharleston
    1. Select the MyAccounts tab, then scroll to the bottom and click the link that says Log onto eBill account.
    2. In the new pop-up window, select eDeposits at the top, then select the term (Fall 2017).
    3. In the drop down menu, select tuition deposit. The system will prompt you to submit the $100 tuition deposit (this officially confirms your spot in the entering class).
    4. Repeat step 3, but select housing deposit.  The system will prompt you to submit the $200 housing prepayment (this confirms your intent to request on-campus housing).
    5. Repeat step 3, but select housing application fee.  The system will prompt you to submit the $50 housing application fee (this will allow you to access the housing application).
    6. After all payments are submitted, return to the MyCharleston home page.
  2. Click on the MyHousing/Dining button on the right side of the page to open the housing application.
  3. Choose the button that corresponds to you to begin the housing application! (meal plans and hall preferences will be selected during this process)

Housing assignments are assigned in order of application completion date.

Note:  The housing application fee and housing prepayment are nonrefundable, as is the tuition deposit.  Please see the housing contract for details.
