Please come see the CofC Theatre department’s production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa on Sunday, 23 February, at 3pm at the Emmett Robinson Theatre, which is located in the Simons Center. Immediately after the play, please join our reception (starting around 5pm) at the Towell Library building on the Cistern Yard.
Whether you come to the play or not, please join us at the reception. It will be a chance for folks from the local community who are interested in an Irish and Irish-American Studies program to mingle with the faculty who teach Irish-themed classes.
Sounds wonderful. Many years ago, Ohio Dominican
in Columbus, Ohio offered a course in Irish history
which was very informative. Looking forward to the
play and the reception. Hope this program is
successfully launched.
Thanks, Joe. I’d love to come. I’m a retired Secondary Ed Prof from the College, first generation American with an Irish passport, and I have a little farm in Galway outside Ballinasloe. My daughter Devon Wray Hanahan teaches Spanish at The C of C. Perhaps you know one another. I’m looking forward to the play and reception.

Joe: I look forward to the play and meeting you at the reception. I have forwarded the link to this program to Lenny Branch, current president of the S.C. Irish Historical Society, so it can be sent out to all our members.
Rosanne: Let’s chat at the reception; my grandfather hailed from Ballinasloe (Ahascragh); I was the first to go back; still have cousins there & have some stories to tell & songs to sing!
Looking forward to going tomorrow. I am bringing Mary Margaret McLernon to both the play and reception. We did let Moore Quinn know last week we were coming. Look forward to seeing you and hearing about the program.
