Faculty and staff members from departments and programs across campus, such as English, Jewish Studies, political science and philosophy, meet every Sunday afternoon to play in the City of Charleston’s adult recreational co-ed softball league. Many of the team members have played as a Hack since the team originated in 2005, and continue to give their opponents a run for their money. This season, the team finished the regular season 7-3 and in third place.
Team captain Joe Kelly remarks:
“I’m proud of every one of our players, who beat lawyers (or lawyers-in-training), bankers, and water workers en route to one of our most successful seasons. Easily, easily, we had the best uniforms.”
The next season starts in January, which means that the Hacks will be well-rested and hungry for another championship trophy to add to the fireplace mantel of a team members’ department office!
