Registration FAQs!

Registration for Fall 2025 courses opens this week! Familiarize yourself ahead of time with these FAQs.

  • Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 am: Senior registration (those with 90+ earned credits).
  • Friday, March 28 at 7:30 am: Registration for all remaining Honors Scholars (students on the comprehensive four-year Honors track).
  • Monday, March 31, at 7:30 am: ARCH Scholars.

To get on a waitlist for an HONS course, please fill out this form. THE WAITLIST WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL REGISTRATION BEGINS:

Fall 25 HONS Course Waitlist Form

By placing yourself on the waitlist, there is no guarantee that you will be registered for the course. Please place only one waitlist request per category. Also, we ask you to consider alternative coursework if possible. If a seat becomes available, we’ll send you an e-mail.

  • We will not respond to any email regarding waitlist requests, you must use the link above.

We raise the caps in our classes over the course of the day.  The logic behind this is that everything fills equally, and it protects students who run into technical difficulties.  For example, if all the seats in a colloquium (or advanced class) that you want are full, we won’t add any more seats until all of the open spots in every other colloquium (or advanced studies class) have been filled.  That will help you gauge when more seats will be available so you are not constantly checking back.

The vast majority of these seats must be reserved for incoming first-year students. While we try to open 2-3 seats in those classes where we think we have room, you should always have a backup plan if you are looking at one of these.

You will have to contact the home department directly if you need an override into a class that does not have the HONS — course designation. We have no ability to grant those overrides. We can help you only when these issues arise in HONS classes.

You must complete your advising process through your honors advisor/mentor to get your hold lifted. If you have not yet done this, you’ll have to complete it first (and that will take a couple of days, in all likelihood). Please remember that many academic and administrative departments also place advising holds. We have no ability to lift those. The main thing today is not to panic. No one can register for honors classes but honors students.

Honors staff cannot resolve network-related issues. You will need to go directly to the Helpdesk at helpdesk@cofc.edu or 843-953-3375.

That is a one-credit class reserved mostly for rising seniors. You can check out the description on the HUB and find the waitlist link.
