Part-time childcare job opportunity

The opportunity: Assist a local mom in picking up two middle school kids from East Cooper Montessori Charter School on Rifle Range Rd. in Mt. Pleasant; then providing supervision and transportation to activities.  Children are 12/14 and very self-sufficient.

  • Ideally 3 days a week to start, 2:30-4:30.
  • Additional hours if interested and available. Very flexible!
  • $20/hour to start.

Halsey Institute internship

The College’s Halsey Institute offers a fall semester internship for students (and recent graduates) looking to gain experience in a professional gallery setting.

What to expect: Halsey Institute internships are structured with three-week rotations under direct guidance and mentorship of each Halsey Institute staff member in the areas of development, marketing, exhibitions, administration, and education. Interns are scheduled with weekly visitor services shifts at the front desk of the Halsey Institute to create meaningful interactions with gallery visitors.

The dates: The Fall 2024 internship session will begin on Tuesday, August 20.

Office internship with the local chapter of the NAACP

The local Charleston chapter of the NAACP is seeking office interns!

The Opportunity: In this role you will support administrative needs (processing membership applications, phone calls, messages, email, etc). You will work collaboratively with chapter officers and perform outreach to increase meeting attendance and event engagement.

Spring 2025 White House Internship Program

The application period for the Spring 2025 session of the White House Internship Program is open!

The Internship: The White House Internship Program (WHIP) is a public service leadership and development program that provides emerging leaders with an opportunity to gain valuable skills while supporting the work of the White House and furthering the priorities of the Biden-Harris Administration.

  • The 16-week program will begin in January 2025. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, it is a paid internship for the first time in recent history.

Get a Summer ’25 Internship with Professional Guidance & Financial Assistance

The Career Center’s Internship Award program provides students with professional guidance and financial assistance for summer 2025 internships.

How it works: Students are accepted into a cohort that will work together throughout the upcoming academic year. Students will participate in group workshops and receive personalized coaching, all designed to help prepare them to find (and succeed at) a summer ’25 internship in their field.

  • Monetary stipend: Students also receive a monetary stipend to use in support of their summer ’25 internship.
  • The goal of this award is to assist students with professional development while helping to eliminate potential financial barriers for those who otherwise may not be able to pursue an internship experience.

Who should apply: All rising sophomore and junior CofC students in any major seeking a for-credit or non-credit internship for summer ’25.

Calling all future physician-scientists! Learn about medicine, surgery, and academic research through NUTIP, an interactive year-long training program with the MUSC Department of Neurosurgery.

How it works: You’ll shadow MUSC clinicians in the operating room and clinic, learn about neuroscience research topics and techniques, and more! You’ll gain real-world experience and a thorough understanding of the medical field as a whole.

The benefits:

  • Accumulate shadowing hours
  • Make connections in the Department of Neurosurgery
  • Interact with graduate students, physicians, and medical students

Program timeline: This program is a year-long opportunity during both the Fall ’24 and Spring ’25 semester. There’s a minimum time commitment of one day a week, though scheduling is flexible.
