CofC Alumni Weekend Presents:  A panel of distinguished College of Charleston alumni and medical professionals share their experiences from the front lines of the COVID pandemic. A reception following the program will feature drinks and light hors d’oeuvres as well as an opportunity to interact with the College of Charleston EMS Program students and hear about their unique role within the campus community.

Volunteer at the Black Student Union’s 5th Annual Children’s Carnival

Earn service hours, meet new people, and support the community

The College of Charleston’s Black Student Union is looking for volunteers for their 5th annual Children’s Carnival on November 13th from 11:00am to 2:00pm in the Cistern Yard. Volunteer shifts are available from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

For all students interested in volunteering, please fill out the google form here.

All volunteers should report to Rita 101 at their chosen time; volunteers will be assigned roles upon arrival.

Charleston 40, College of Charleston’s Tour Guide Association, is currently looking for new members. The purpose of Charleston 40 is to provide tours, represent the campus to any interested person(s), and facilitate the needs of the Office of Admissions. Charleston 40 holds bi-weekly meetings, and new guides are required to give 1 tour per week.

Be a Peer Mentor with the Reach Program!

The Reach Program is Currently Looking for Social and Fitness Mentors!

Participate in traditional college activities with your mentee such as studying, eating meals, attending fitness classes and sporting events, going to the gym, or simply hanging out together. Commit to a short amount of time each week and star building a truly valuable relationship!

Bike Share Study Recruitment – Participants Wanted for Data Collection

 

If you like biking and are interested in participating in research data collection, this may be for you. As a part of the Charleston Bike Share program, research is being conducted to find the differences in energy needed to use a regular bike versus an electric pedal-assist bike.

To become a participant you must be 18-40 years old, physically active, and free of any underlying health conditions. You will also have to complete a baseline fitness test and complete two 1-hour bicycle rides. 

All participates will receive a Fitness and body composition analysis, a water bottle, and $25!

Are you interested in pursuing a future with the Peace Corps? Consider applying to be a Peace Corps Campus Ambassador for the 2021-2022 academic year!

Peace Corps Campus Ambassadors serve as peer-to-peer outreach experts on undergraduate university campuses nationwide. Working closely with Peace Corps Recruiters, Campus Ambassadors use their campus connections to spread the word about Peace Corps. The Peace Corps supports each Campus Ambassador’s professional growth through individualized mentorship with a Peace Corps Recruiter, opportunities for active involvement in the national Campus Ambassadors community, and a letter of recommendation that the Peace Corps Recruiter may write for the Campus Ambassador upon their successful completion of the program.
