The Program: The Founders Scholars program is a prestigious, year-long entrepreneurial leadership experience designed for ten of the College of Charleston’s most exceptional students.

  • Founders Scholars participate in the Founders Club, take on leadership roles in the college’s entrepreneurial community, and receive a $1000 award at the end of the 2025/26 academic year.

Great Fit For: Any student with exceptional entrepreneurial potential. Open to all majors and interests.

Founders Scholars
Innovate. Lead. Make an Impact

The Founders Scholars program is a prestigious, year-long entrepreneurial leadership experience designed for ten of the College of Charleston’s most exceptional students. This program is ideal for those passionate about solving real-world problems and creating positive change through innovation, integrity, and impact.

Eligibility & Selection:
Scholars are selected through a highly competitive interview process that identifies students with exceptional entrepreneurial potential. All majors are encouraged to apply; however, preference is given to applicants who are entrepreneurship concentrators or minors and actively developing a new venture concept.

Expectations & Recognition:
Founders Scholars are held to the highest academic and professional standards. As ambassadors for the program, they serve as role models across campus. Those who complete the program will receive a $1,000 award at the end of the 2025-26 academic year.

Engagement:
Founders Scholars are expected to participate in the Founders Club actively and are encouraged to apply for leadership positions, including:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Director of Marketing & Social Media
  • Director of Events (e.g., Guest Speakers, 7x7 Speaker Forum)
  • Director of Finance & Accounting
  • Mentorship Director (supporting ELLC and first-year entrepreneurs)
