The Filth Disease comes out this November

With a scholarly focus on the history of disease and medicine, Dr. Steere-Williams teaches our popular ‘Epidemics and Revolutions’ course and is the director of our graduate program. He had this to say about his forthcoming book:
>
“Living in the midst of a pandemic, my book is a salient reminder of the ways that pandemics – past, current, and future – are inescapable historical forces. By exploring one of the most feared and threatening diseases of the nineteenth century, and the rise of a global science of epidemiology during the Industrial Revolution and the height of British Imperialism, The Filth Disease presents a new perspective on the impact of infectious disease and the scientists who study them.”
