Congratulations to History majors Annika Liger and Adelaide Hoffman for presenting their papers at the Southeastern Women’s Studies Association (SEWSA) conference in Atlanta. Annika presented, “Attitudes towards Abortionists in Mid-Twentieth-Century Ireland” and Adelaide’s paper was entitled, “Abortion, Ireland, and Identities in the Twentieth Century.” Dr. Cara Delay worked with both women and was pleased to report they did wonderful jobs!
And a BIG congratulations to Kristin Brig, a former undergrad in the History Department and current MA student. Kristin will be attending Johns Hopkins University in the fall to pursue her doctorate! She also received offers from Illinois, Indiana, and Oxford. Kristin recently presented a wonderful paper from her M.A. thesis at the Southern Association for the History of Medicine, and in May is presenting at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the History of Medicine. Go Kristin!
