Phyllis Jestice, Chair, and the History faculty welcome several new faces to the department. The two new visiting professors are:
“Dr. Erica Buchberger. Erica is an early medievalist whose recent Oxford dissertation explores identity formation among Franks and Visigoths in the early Middle Ages.
Very-soon-to-be Dr. Whitney Dirks-Schuster. Whitney successfully defended her dissertation at Ohio State University on August 2 and her degree will be awarded in a week. She is a scholar of Stuart Britain who can tell us anything we could possibly want to know about monstrous births”.
Also a warm welcome to three new adjunct professors:
“Dr. Hayden Smith is a December 2012 Ph.D. from the University of Georgia; his dissertation is on inland rice culture in the South Carolina Lowcountry and has interesting things to say about the intersection of technology and culture.
Ms. Kristin Halvorson has two M.A.s, from C of C and from the University of Chicago (the latter in Egyptology). She has teaching experience from Armstrong Atlantic State U. and manages a tour company in town.
Ms. Heather Crosby has an M.A. in American History from the Citadel and comes to us with considerable teaching experience at Trident Tech”.
