Our first GSCA event of the semester welcomed guest lecturer Muhammad Adbur Rahim, Ph.D. candidate at Howard University and Program Officer at the U.S. Institute of Peace and kicked off the new school year with a mixer and open discussion.

New Graduate Student Orientation
It was a pleasure to meet and talk to many of the incoming graduate students. They all seemed excited and ready to start the next chapter of their lives. Good luck everyone!
Storytelling
We helped support our community by reading to elementary aged summer camp children. They were full of energy and interest! Dr. Seuss was one among several stories told, though just getting to know the children was entertaining as well.
GSCA Mixer
Our first annual GSCA Mixer was a great kick start for our new organization! We welcome everyone to come show there support, meet new people, promote diversity, and learn more about GSCA. Not to mention the food and drinks were great! We thank everyone for coming out and hope to see you and your friends at the next one.
Charleston Black Expo
The CofC Graduate School invited GSCA to represent the College at the Charleston Black Expo. We gave information about the graduate programs offered at the College and shared our own experiences with interested Expo attendees.
