Congratulations to Megan Prewitt Koon (’05 MA, English) on being named the 2009 South Carolina Independent School Association Upper School Teacher of the Year! Megan came from Furman University with a BA in English and completed her MA in English in 2005. She teaches 11th grade American Literature at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and sponsors the Book Club, Recycling Society, Scrabble Club (never heard of that until now!), and the Women’s Leadership Club. Her husband, who also teaches at St. Joe’s, was a finalist in the middle school category. Congratulations to you both!

Prior to joining Jackson Kelly, Laura was Assistant Counsel at the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection where she represented the agency in a variety of manners relating to the state’s water quality and permitting program.
