Things may feel different the start of this semester, but the Fall 2020 semester starts today! We at the Graduate School Office want to wish all our graduate students the best of luck and hope you all have a great Fall semester.
With classes taking place virtually until September 14th, we want to share with you all some of the resources available to graduate students during this time, as well as some on-campus policies and procedures in place to maintain health and safety:
Graduate Office Safety Precautions
In the Graduate Office, we will follow campus regulations for health and safety. Office staff will wear masks in common areas, socially distance at all times, and we have installed a sneeze guard at our front desk. Our office hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday-Friday. Contact us at 843-953-5614 or gradstud@cofc.edu with any questions.
Take the Cougar Pledge!
The Cougar Pledge is a guide for students, faculty, and staff outlining the practices that will help keep everyone safe and healthy. Report any violations of the pledge using this form.
Familiarize Yourself with the COVID-19 Testing Policy
On August 20, President Hsu outlined the COVID-19 testing policy for campus. The policy can be found on the Back on the Bricks website. Through a partnership with the Medical University of South Carolina, the College will provide limited testing for students during two separate windows: Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 and Sept. 7 through Sept. 13. These testing events will be conducted on or near campus. Students must present a valid CofC ID. Please plan to bring evidence of insurance if applicable.
Addlestone Library Access
At this time, access to Addlestone Library is limited. The Library is only physically accessible through the doors on Rivers Green only. Students will need to present their Cougar ID before entering the Library. Face coverings and social distancing are required at all times. No food is permitted, and all beverages must be covered. Research consultations with library faculty and archivists are still ONLINE ONLY via Zoom. Check the latest library hours here. Follow @cofc_lsa on Instagram for updates.
New Cougar ID Card
The College has adopted a new Cougar ID Card with new contactless and swipe functions. Commuting students can pick up their new Cougar ID Card beginning August 24th at Campus Services HQ (162 Calhoun Street). Students will need to show a government-issued ID for pick up. Campus Services HQ is open 8:30am-5:00pm starting August 24th. Contact 843-953-1100 or campusservices@cofc.edu with any questions.
