Fields to Families is hosting its second annual Oyster Roast at Bowen’s Island Restaurant on Folly Beach from 2-5:00 p.m. Founded in 2006, Fields to Families is a nonprofit organization located in Charleston, South Carolina, that helps the hungry in the community gain access to nutritious fruits and vegetables. They depend on farmers who give their unused fruits and vegetables, volunteers who help pick produce, community members who give extras from their gardens, and recipient agencies who help distribute this nutritious food to the hungry and needy. Our very own MPA program is helping Fields to Families glean vegetables this Saturday, January 28!!
Tickets for the oyster roast are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and food is included in the price of the ticket! You can purchase tickets at http://fieldstofamilies.org/online-donation.shtml by clicking the “donate” button and purchase as many tickets as you would like.
