Weekly MPA Newsletter

Below is the weekly letter from MPA graduate assistant, Matthew Irwin.

Hello everyone!  Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  Students and faculty, good luck returning to classes today!

Welcome to all the new MPA students starting this semester, as well!

Here comes the news…

NEW INFORMATION:

The MPASA will meet tomorrow to begin laying out plans for the Spring semester, so stay tuned for that information.  However, as (by my calculations) the Spring semester is only 4 months from being done, it isn’t too early to begin thinking about filling the MPASA Board for next year.  This year, we hope to hold elections a little earlier than normal so that the newly-elected board can work with the outgoing-board a little longer and take over towards the end of the semester.  Therefore, please consider running for a position on the MPASA Board if you will be returning next year.  We will have a more formal announcement in the next few weeks providing job descriptions for each position.  However, the get the juices flowing, the following positions comprise the MPASA Board: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Social Chair, Service Chair, Professional Development Chair, and GSA Senator.  If you have any questions about each position, please feel free to e-mail the person that currently holds the position (See MPASA Website E-mail Tab ).  Thanks!

Congratulations! A big congratulations to MPA student Doug Wurster on being chosen to receive the Mitch Sizemore/Max Holland scholarship!
