Master of Public Administration Named Among Top 100 in the Nation

In the most recent rankings from U.S. News & World Report, the Master of Public Administration program has been ranked in the top 100 schools in the nation!

U.S. News & World Report is a media company dedicated to helping citizens, consumers, business leaders and policy officials make important decisions. The U.S. News rankings of public affairs programs are based solely on opinions of each program’s quality as rated by academic experts at peer institutions.

The Master of Public Administration program at the College is fully accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), and is available in two convenient formats: traditional and executive. There’s also the option to enroll in the concurrent program with the M.S. in Environmental & Sustainability Studies degree program, as well as two graduate certificate options: Arts & Cultural Management, and Urban & Regional Planning. Graduates of the MPA program find themselves most often in the nonprofit sector or within state and local government.

Recently, Program Director Dr. Judy Millesen was named Graduate Faculty of the Year during the College’s ExCEL Awards, which honors College of Charleston students, staff, faculty, and community members for their commitment to creating a campus environment that promotes diversity and excellence. Program Coordinator and Community Assistance Program (CAP) Director Marla Robertson, was named Administrator of the Year in the ExCEL Awards, as well as being named one of the inaugural winners of the Phenomenal Women Award, honoring CofC faculty, staff, students, and alumni who are phenomenal women, as nominated by members of the campus community.
