Have you tried to Wikapedia anything today? If so, you would have seen a black screen saying, Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge. Wikipedia, along with thousands of other Web sites, are “going dark” today to raise awareness and to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). This bill is inherently designed to prevent copyright infringement; however, Web experts warn that this could threaten the functionality of the Internet. Some see this bill as an opportunity to create an environment on the Internet that is free from copyright issues, while others see it as a way to censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the United States.
