This Sunday, October 2, will be the 19th Anniversary of the Latin American Festival, held at Wannamaker County Park in North Charleston. The festival celebrates all things Latino, with an emphasis on food, music, and culture. Vendors will be serving authentic Latino food from several regions, including chorizo, tamales, empanadas, plus a variety of others foods and beverages. Live music will be supplied all day on the festival’s main stage. Opener DJ Luigi will be spinning sets of Hispanic pop songs, while Bio Ritmo, a nationally and internationally acclaimed, authentic 10-piece salsa band, will get attendees’ feet moving. Additionally, a craft market and global education area will be available for those seeking cultural clarity, plus rides and crafts to entertain the kids. Locally-centered Brazilian martial-arts/dance fusion Capoeira Charleston will also provide performances and demonstrations. Event admission is $10; people with a Charleston County Parks Gold Pass get in for free.
