While this article talks about preparing Ph.D. candidates for the world after graduation, its advice can be applied to anyone at any stage in their life: student or working professional. Personal branding is getting a lot of attention these days, and for good reason. One doesn’t need to boast about his or her achievements to be recognized, but it does help to be strategic. And, as Christine Kelly says, it all starts with, “knowing who you are and what you do exceptionally well.” Take the time to understand what it is that is of value to you. Therein lies the key to the passion that will carry you through your education and your career.
