The School of Education, Health and Human Performance is offering a two special topics courses this summer. The first, Characteristics & Procedures for Individuals with Autism or Closely Related Disorders, has already started and will run through June 24.
The second, Characteristics & Procedures for Individuals with High-Functioning Autism/Asperger’s begins June 2. This course, EDFS 796, runs through July 2 and meets online. It targets high-incidence populations with ASD and provides an in-depth evaluation of issues, challenges, and possible solutions for individuals with high functioning autism/Asperger’s syndrome. Other topics include co-occurring disorders, assessment, educational planning and programming options, issues in transition, family and community aspects, and current controversies.
