“Politics, Government, and the Nonprofit Sector – Collaboration or Conflict?”
Join us on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:15 for the Spring MPA Professional Development Panel. Dana Beach, William Wert, Andy Benke, Tammie Hoy and Ellen Dressler Moryl will discuss how nonprofits collaborate, or otherwise interact, with politicians and government agencies. This panel will also address the challenges, ipportunities, and ethical and accountability issues that present themselves with this interaction.
In the nonprofit world, collaboration and partnering is becoming popular, and more and more widely recognized as vital to success. Likewise, for years, government has increasingly partnerd, collaborated, or contracted with nonprofits to accomplish their public service goals. Cross-sector networking, however, can present the possibility of inefficiency, or even corruption. Thus, we hope that we can facilitate a discussion that will be timely and salient for students planning to enter public service.
Space is limited. RSVP today with Cathy.
