19th Annual Italian Film Festival Recap

Ciao a tutti!

We hope everyone enjoyed the Nuovo Cinema Italian Film Festival (NCIFF) this past weekend! As always, the festival featured a great selection of incredible Italian films. This year’s special guest was Manfredi Marini of Diciannove (2025), who CofC’s CisternYard Video had the honor of interviewing. On November 9th Le Déluge, directed by Gianluca Jodice, was announced for this year’s Grand Jury Prize!

A Call for Submissions to the Annual Film Club Screenwriting Competition

Hello student filmmakers!

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for the Film Club’s screenwriting competition is approximately 4 weeks away! If you are interested in sharing your amazing writing and having your screenplay produced by the Film Club in the Spring, please feel free to submit! Upcoming Camera and Film Production Workshop!

Hello Cougars! The College of Charleston’s Film Club and Cistern Yard Video are collaborating to host a camera and film production workshop this Monday, September 15th. If you are interested and would like to become equipment certified please join us in Addlestone Library Room 127 from 5-7 pm. No prior experience required!

Official Deadline Extension for Student Film Festival Submissions

Hello student filmmakers! The Film Club has officially decided to extend the submissions period until Friday, March 21st. We hope this comes as good news to many of you and we encourage you to share your amazing work!

“The Shark is Broken” Film Club Trip

The Film Club had a great trip to PURE Theatre for their performance and talk back for “The Shark is Broken.” Thank you to Michael Smallwood and the cast and crew of the show for having us! It was an amazing performance followed by an insightful discussion about the process and experience of working on the production.
