The Student Film Club meets again tonight, Wednesday, December 1, in Septima Clark Auditorium (ECTR 118)

The Student Film Club will meet and screen its next film of this semester’s film series,”Bildunsfilm” or “Coming of Age” films: Wes Anderson’s break-out film,Rushmore (1998). Starring Bill Murray (in something of a break-out performance, one that rehabilitated his career) and Jason Schwartzman, ths film tells the story of an ambitious, precocious, prep school flunkie named Max Fischer (Schwartzman) whose success at producing theatrical adaptations of major Hollywood films is but one of his many eccentricities. Max is befriended by the wealthy but world-weary Herman Blume (Murray), and the two of them compete for the affections of the charming, beautiful, and already taken Miss Cross. At age 15, Max begins to feel the pain and suffering that Herman knows so well, but in the end Max finds his own way to still claim victory. Great soundtrack, great performances, great direction by Anderson. Join us at 7:00pm in ECTR 118.
