Celebrate the 100th birthday of Federico Fellini, with a screening of Amarcord (1973)
Let’s celebrate the 100 birthday of Federico Fellini! The Nuovo Cinema Italian Film festival (NCIFF) invites you to celebrate one of the most brilliant movie directors and winner of 5 Oscar Awards. Events are planned in Italy and abroad for an extraordinary birthday, lasting an entire year. In Charleston, NCIFF is offering the screening of the Academy Award winning film, Amarcord (1973) in collaboration with the Department of French, Francophone & Italian Studies at the College of Charleston.
Amarcord (Italian for “I remember”) is is based on Fellini’s childhood memories, growing up in Rimini, Italy, under the Fascist regime of Benito Mussolini.
The careening is Friday, February 28 at 6:00pm at the Simon Center Recital Hall, 54 St. Philip St. Admission is free, but there is reserved seating for donors and members, so come early. Ciao!
