Here are some photos from the Society for Cinema and Media Studies undergraduate conference (SCMS-U) at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, courtesy of Lindsey Scott. Lindsey presented a paper, entitled “Gendered Spaces in The Color Purple,” which she wrote for Dr. Tim Carens’s English course, “Iconic Heroines in Literature and Film.” The conference, held April 11-13, was sponsored by the Society for Cinema and Media Studies and by Muhlenberg College’s Media & Communication Department and Program in Film Studies. SCMS-U is an extremely competitive undergraduate conference. International in scope, the conference showcases strong undergraduate research in the areas of film and media studies. Congratulations to Lindsey! It looks like it was a blast (an informative blast!).
