The Student Film Club announces faculty-led screenwriting workshop on Monday, October 11
The Student Film Club has announced that it has scheduled a faculty-led screenwriting workshop on Monday, October 11, at 5:00pm in Maybank 100. The workshop will be led by Rodney Rogers, who teaches screenwriting courses in the Theater Department (see the Spring 2022 schedule of film courses to see when his screenwriting courses are being offered). Rodney Rogers is the co-founder of Pure Theatre. An award winning playwright and screenwriter, his feature film Steaming Milk won runner-up Best Actor and Best Director awards at the 1997 Seattle International Film Festival and was chosen as a “Best of the Fest” of both The Seattle Times and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. He is a two time winner of the National/LAFF Screenwriting scholarship and received the 2010 Playwriting fellowship from the South Carolina Arts Commission. His short film Downturn was awarded a South Carolina Film Commission Indie Grant. He has appeared as an actor on Ozark, Reckless, Army Wives, One Tree Hill, and Drop Dead Diva.
