Make a Date with Alfred Hitchcock on Valentine’s Day
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and the Terrace Theater is celebrating with a special screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s lush romantic-thriller, To Catch a Thief (1955). Taking place in the French Riveria, the film stars Cary Grant as John Robie, a former jewel thief known as “The Cat.” His time in the French resistance has made him a hero, but now a new spate of jewel thefts casts doubt on his reputation. Meanwhile, a beautiful young woman named Frances (Grace Kelly) brings her mother and her mother’s very expensive jewelry to the French Riviera for a visit. Will Frances draw out “The Cat” once more? And who, exactly, is “The Cat”–now? Among Hitchcock’s most beautiful and colorful films, To Catch a Thief won Robert Burks an Oscar for Best Cinematography.
Join us Thursday, February 14 at 7:30pm for a special screening of To Catch a Thief. The Terrace Theater is located at 1956 Maybank Highway.
