Film Studies reception to honor Dr. Frank Cossa and graduating FMST minors

In honor of Dr. Frank Cossa, Professor of Art History and Film Studies, the Film Studies Program is delighted to host a special reception on May 1, from 5:00-6:30 in 9 College Way, 2nd floor. Dr. Cossa will be retiring at the end of the year. He has been an invaluable member of the Film Studies Program, and a terrific colleague. His film courses, including those devoted to Film Noir, Neo-Noir, and recent European cinema, have been challenging, thought-provoking, and enormously popular. He has, for many years, team-taught the Art History course “Introduction to Film Art” with Theatre professor Evan Parry. Dr. Cossa will be returning to New York to live, full time, and to devote his attention to playwriting. He is author of several award-winning plays, including Cross Purposes, The Queen’s Knight, and The Trials of Martin Guerre. He is also a filmmaker (The Expert, which won Special Commendation at the 1991 Canadian International Annual Film Festival) and fiction writer (“Cloud Shadows”).

Also being honored at the reception are our graduating Film Studies minors, including Thomas Horton, Ashlee Hardy, Wes Booker, Neah Baechler, and Natalie Fortune. Congratulations to everyone!

Please join us May 1 at 5pm at 9 College Way. There will be food and drink.
