Screening today of The Rosa Parks Story, and discussion with director Julie Dash
Filmmaker and current College of Charleston Visiting Professor Julie Dash will present a screening of her TV film, The Rosa Parks Story (2002). Starring Angela Bassett as the “First Lady of Civil Rights.” Ms. Parks’s heroism when she refused to obey racial segregation on the Montgomery, Alabama bus system, helped her become an important symbol in the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Join us at 4:00pm in Maybank Hall, room 103 for a free screening, followed by a Q & A with filmmaker Julie Dash.
