This series continues with François Truffaut’s 1978 film, The Green Room. Based loosely on the Henry James story “Altar of the Dead,” the film stars Truffaut himself in the lead role: a man who has become obsessed with the memory of his dead wife. The film, a relatively obscure one in the Truffaut ouvre, is equisitely shot and emotionally powerful. Tonight’s screening will be introduced by Dr. Mike Duvall, Assistant Professor of English.
