The Student Film Club meets tonight: Wednesday, October 22, at 7:00pm in the Communications Museum screening room.

The semester-long film series devoted to first films by great directors continues with John Cassevetes’s Shadows (1959). Many of you know that Truffaut and Resnais came out with their first feature films in 1959 (Les Quatre cents coups and Hiroshima, mon amour, respectively). But did you ever wonder if anything as fresh and exciting was going on in the U.S.? Well, there was. Cassevetes’s film is as daring as a Beat poem, as free and loose as jazz improvisation. Come join us in the screening room on the second floor of the Communication Museum at 7:00pm.
