Dr. Doug Roble, Creative Director of Software at Digital Domain to speak about visual effects in the movies, November 3.

The School of Science and Mathematics has announced that Dr. Doug Roble will be visitng the College to speak about how special effects from recent films were created, as well as the science behind the tools that created them. Dr. Roble received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Ohio State University. He is now living and working in Venice, California. He is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Visual Effects Branch, and has received two Academy Awards–the latest a Scientific and Engineering Award for the development of the fluid simulation system at Digital Domain. Join us for this fun and informative event, Monday, Novermber 3 at 6:30 pm in Physicians Auditorium. This lecture is the seventh Conrad D. Festa Community Lecture in Science and Mathematics.
