The Southern Circuit, currently in its 30th year, is an annual touring program showcasing and supporting independent filmmakers. The film series, sponsored by the South Carolina Arts Foundation, has not come to Charleston due to lack of willing screening venues. But that’s changed. The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art will now host screenings of programs culled from the circuit, including Startle Pattern and other short films by Eric Patrick. Programs are also scheduled for October 12 and November 2. The Halsey Institute is located within the Albert Simons Center for the Arts, 54 St. Philip St. For more information, visit here.
