Richard Crosby started the Department of Computer Science in 1980, and 2015 was the department’s 35th anniversary! 2015 was a big year of accomplishments for the department:
- 13% increase of Fall enrollment from 2014 to 2015
- 31% of student body consisting of females
- Dr. Sebastian van Delden joins the department as Chair
- Two Assistant Professors added to the department roster, with a third on the way!
- Acquired first-floor space at Harbor Walk for our growing needs (opening Spring 2016)
- New Data Science 4+1 Program offered, through a cooperation agreement with the University of San Francisco Master of Science in Analytics Program
- CofC team wins 1st place in ACM’s Southeast Region International Collegiate Programming Contest
