Marketing Internship with Anakeesta

Marketing Internship in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

The intern will learn multiple facets of Business Communications, Advertising, and Public Relations. There will be training on local/national campaigns. They will learn all about being a brand ambassador and how to interact with the public through digital media and personal interaction.

This internship provides the opportunity to learn about Social Media Analytics, Google AdWords, SEO and more. We also provide the opportunity to build website pages through WordPress. The intern will be utilized in event planning and programming as we prepare several months in advance for all holidays/events.

The sky is the limit! We are willing to work with their class schedule. This internship can be formatted to help the interns learn more about what they are interested in. Our goal is to provide training and feedback on an intern’s performance while giving them the best opportunity to grow in their knowledge of the Advertising/Public Relations field.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn more about the tourism/hospitality industry as well. They will have access to everything at Anakeesta. They will be able to experience our Dueling Ziplines, Rail Runner, Tree Canopy Walk, Memorial Forest Walk, Treehouse Playground, Vista Garden Walk, Cliff Top Grill & Bar, Smokehouse BBQ and our whimsical retail shops all while on top of Anakeesta Mountain. We are located in the heart of Downtown Gatlinburg and provide some of the best views of The Great Smoky Mountains.

The intern will work out of our private offices under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator at 147 Baskins Creek Bypass. They will be required to travel to Gatlinburg for all hours scheduled. We can negotiate how many hours the intern will work according to their availability. This is a PAID internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage donation request program
  • Research new materials for marketing optimization
  • Monitor guest survey program
  • Create and execute monthly newsletter with supervision

  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)

Duration of Internship: June – November 2019

6 Months, Full-Time

Based at Audi of America, Inc.’s North American headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, you will be part of the Audi Public Relations team responsible for preparing, implementing and measuring the success of comprehensive PR events and media relations strategies. The internship will provide experience in domestic and international event execution, budget and resource management, as well as the development and distribution of press materials. You will be a key member of a team of storytellers, strategists, creators and conversation-starters working to launch innovative products in a rapidly evolving, face-paced industry. Some of the tasks you will be involved with:

50% Event Management

  • Assist in event preparation for media drive programs, auto shows, tech demonstrations and offsite meetings specifically requiring creative research, planning, and strategy
  • Create and maintain agendas, media lists and databases; issue invites, track correspondence
  • Coordinate across product, corporate, technology and external agency teams to deliver events in accordance with budgets and contracts

35% Administrative Tasks

  • Team coordination – maintain team calendars and shared drive, coordinate travel, schedule and manage preparation and set-up for internal meetings
  • Attend, monitor, and participate in department meetings
  • Design and enhance reports, presentations, and documents utilized across the team

15% Budget Management

  • Prepare, track, and follow up on purchase requests, contracts, and signature authorizations to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Prepare and maintain expense reports

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled at a university with a Spring 2019 graduation expected or completed graduation within the last 6 months
  • Experience in PR and communications required.
  • Experience in event planning, business administration, marketing, hospitality, or international affairs a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an in-depth understanding of and experience with database management
  • Ability to efficiently focus and prioritize tasks on multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Passion for process improvement, self-development and a desire to pursue a career in Communication Events.

The Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is searching for a Media Relations Intern with a start date of March 2019. The internship pays $10/hr.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Provide support to the Media Relations department and other departments as needed.
  2. Assist with functions as assigned. This includes but is not limited to taking RSVP’s, assisting with registration, set-up and/or break-down, etc.
  3. Assist with large mailings. This includes but is not limited to calculating supplies needed, gathering supplies, copying, stuffing and coordinating with Mail Center.

Explore the ins and outs of working on the editorial staff of a nationally recognized regional magazine that delves into life in the South Carolina Lowcountry. During their time here, editorial interns gain valuable experience, insight, and understanding as they learn what is required to produce an award-winning monthly magazine and associated digital properties.

Some info about the internship:

Prospective candidates often apply seeking school credit, but we welcome interns of all ages, as well as international applicants. We regularly hire full-time from the internship pool, and the experience is an invaluable crash course in print publishing. Interns don’t get coffee or participate in busy-work—they learn the ins and outs from planning to final shipment, while sharpening skills integral for career-track positions such as copyediting, fact checking, proofing, researching, and transcribing. They are along for the ride in important decisions such as art department aesthetics and layout, with some hands on time with industry-standard software like InDesign and Google Drive. Interns also often get their first bylines by writing for the magazine.

Internship with Aramark Dining Services at College of Charleston

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Aramark and the student body through peer-to-peer marketing
  • Interact with customers while working at various marketing events such as meal plan sign-up tables, dining survey stations, and residential theme dinners
  • Distribute marketing materials to the dining locations and make sure materials posted are up to date (posters, table tents, napkin ads, hours, etc.)
  • Lead team of marketing students to in meal plan sales
  • Provide fresh ideas for social media accounts and meal plan promotions
  • Be knowledgeable in the meal plan structure, monetary value, and overall benefits of eating on campus
  • Present information to customers and answer questions regarding dining services
