Aalen, located in southwestern Germany at the base of the Swabian Alps in the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. Its origins can be traced back to the Roman Empire at which a large Roman fort existed. Ruins of the old Roman limes (frontier wall) still exist. Today, Aalen is a communications center that celebrates its industries of optics, machinery, textile, and paper. There is almost 25% of Germany’s research and development capacity existing in Baden-Wurttemberg. Baden-Wurttemberg has many universities, most of which are internationally renowned. The University of Bamberg was founded in 1972 and occupies some of the old buildings in the city. Unlike other German universities, Bamberg has only about 5,000 students. Therefore the possibility of close contact between students and professors ranks Bamberg as one of the most popular German universities. Exchange with University of Cape Coast- Ghana

The University of Cape Coast is one of the rare sea front universities in the world, sitting on a hill that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It is located five kilometers west of Cape Coast and operates on two campuses: the Southern Campus (Old Site) and the Northern Campus (New Site). Cape Coast is the capital of the Central Region, in southern Ghana. It’s known for its role in the transatlantic slave trade and is home to a rich history and many monuments. Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society offers a wide range of Business courses in both English and German. Ludwigshafen is a relatively new city, established only in 1853. It is predominantly an industrial city, but it sits along the beautiful Rhine river. The city’s growth and wealth were linked to its expansion into becoming the home for one of the world’s most important chemical companies – BASF, along with several other rapidly growing chemical companies.

University of Southern Mississippi (USM)

The British Studies Program, founded in 1976, is organized by Southern Miss through an academic consortium of colleges and universities. The program offers ten to fifteen different courses in various disciplines. Students will take one course and earn six credit hours through lectures taught by British scholars, artists, business leaders, and government officials, and through field excursions to various locations in and around London. On British Studies, London becomes the students’ classroom as they experience their subject first-hand and conduct research supervised by their professor.
