Ciao, my name is Chase Lee, and I am currently a senior at the College of Charleston majoring in marketing. I am studying abroad in Rome, Italy at John Cabot University through the affiliate program SAI for the Fall 2023 semester. I chose this program because I’ve always wanted to travel to Italy, and it allows me to enhance my academic goals as a marketing major. John Cabot University is perfect because they offer all of the classes that are required for my major. I love the idea of taking marketing classes outside of the country because I will be receiving an international perspective on them, which will be more than helpful when I begin my career in business. The fact that John Cabot University teaches under a liberal arts curriculum was also appealing to me because College of Charleston is a liberal arts school as well. Goals that I have set for my time abroad include eating incredible food, making new friends, immersing myself in the Italian culture, and going on a solo trip. Most of my research about Italy has mainly come from friends/students who studied abroad in the same program. Whenever I have spoken to them, they raved about the program and said they learned so many new things through the Italian culture and through their academic involvement. Overall, I’m so excited to be studying abroad in Rome, Italy this Fall and for the opportunities that await me.
