Favorite Days in Paris by Frannie Cohen-Dumani

One of our first days of the Maymester we went on a Seine River boat cruise to admire all of the big scenes in Paris. This guided tour led us through the river to see different sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, Notre Dame, and many more. This was our first glimpse of how beautiful Paris is and how much was in store for us to see throughout our three weeks here! This day was packed with a lot of different events all planned by our program provider. Another one of my favorite days was our full day in Montmartre. Montmartre is a beautiful area at the top of Paris with gorgeous views (pictured). We had a guided tour throughout the area to learn about its history, explore beautiful sites, discover incredible street art and learn more about its background. After our tour, we were able to explore on our own where we ended up entering the Sacre Coeur, looking through modern art, and eventually sat down for dinner at the top of the hill. One of my favorite parts about this Maymester program was being able to spend time all together with everyone on the trip. We were able to find dinners together for 10+ people and I easily met a bunch of new friends that I am so excited to see back on campus! The last one of my favorite days in France includes a day trip to Versailles. We were able to explore the area on our own for a couple of hours, after which we all met up for lunch in the gardens. I was fascinated by how big the property was and how every room in the palace was extremely unique. This was definitely one of the most beautiful places we went to while in Paris.
