My best day abroad was a Friday. We didn’t have class because we were going on a class trip to Fiesole. When we got there, we got to see some of the most beautiful views. The ride was very hilly but definitely worth it. While we were in Fiesole, we got to participate in a guided tour of one of the most beautiful churches I have seen here so far. The guided tour was lovely and we finished it up with some of my favorite gelato I have had, which the school treated us to! After our trip, my roommates and I did some shopping on our walk home and I bought a very cute top. We then headed home where we finished packing and rushed to the train station with all of our huge bags. We caught the train and began our journey to Cinque Terre!

We booked an Airbnb in Vernazza and as soon as we arrived we were in love. This has been my favorite place in Italy so far. Our Airbnb was overlooking the water and we dropped our stuff off and immediately went into the town. We passed some very cute shops where I was able to get some gifts for my family and then we headed to dinner. I knew I had to get pesto because my professor said that this part of Italy was famous for its pesto- and I can see why! This was the best pesto I have ever had. We then went to a local spot where we got to talk to native Italians and fully immerse ourselves in the culture. Here we spoke with locals about differences between our countries in things like the education system. This was a highlight of my trip because I got to truly appreciate Italian culture for the ways it is similar to the US as well as the ways it is different from us.
